Digital Camera Repairs Digital The majority of digital camera repairs are due to impact damage either to the lens assembly or to the LCD. As a general guide the cost to repair either of these instances will be £90 plus Post and Packing plus VAT (subject to inspection). cameras that have not suffered from impact can generally be repaired for £50 plus P+P plus VAT. Minor repairs which include replacement battery covers and card doors (non impact) can be carried out for £20 plus P+P plus VAT. Professional Digital cameras will require an examination and estimate because of the high cost of parts. Cameras that cannot be fixed at the stated price will be estimated before repair. Refused estimates are charged at £12.77 plus VAT.This charge covers the cost of inspection and return carriage. These are currently £15 for all 35mm, APS, and digital still cameras, £15 for all projectors and binoculars and £25 for all video/camcorders. Deposits are non refundable and will be deducted from the final repair bill. In the event that equipment is returned unrepaired the deposit will cover diagnosis and return carriage. (Additional carriage may apply outside of UK mainland) Estimates Where ever possible Camera Repair Direct will carry out repairs and service work in conjunction with its current published price list. Additional exclusions to this are accident damage, abuse, water and sand ingress or tampering. In these circumstances an estimate will be given for the cost of the repair. The cost of the estimate will be free if the repair is proceeded, however if the equipment is to be returned unrepaired the deposit will be used to offset the costs of diagnosis and return carriage.
